Adam's sleep journey in the early days was going well until he reached the 4-month sleep regression, and his mum, Danni, has struggled to get a decent night's sleep since. Before I started working with Danni, Adam woke frequently throughout the night and wouldn't fall asleep in his cot for naps without feeding or rocking.

Like many mums, Danni was worried that she was going to have to leave Adam to cry it out. I reassured her that she was not going to have to and that we were going to use an in-room and hands-on technique to help Adam reach his sleep goals.

Before we started making changes to how Adam went to sleep, we looked holistically at his sleep, including but not limited to: environment, feeding patterns for solids and breastmilk, associations and awake time.

Danni was very committed to making changes to Adam's sleep for the long run. Her consistency and persistence meant that the changes to Adam's sleep happened quickly, leading to better nights' sleep for the whole family.

By day 4, Adam could fall asleep in his cot with hands-on support from Danni and no longer needed to be fed and rocked to sleep. From here, we continued to tweak and make adjustments to Adams' sleep to reach his goal.

As we went along over our 14 days working together, Danni and I troubleshooted and made adjustments day to day to help set his sleep up for success. By day 9, we hit a couple of challenges, but with some troubleshooting and changes to the plan, Adam was able to keep moving toward his sleep goals.

By the time our 14 days of support working together, Adam was falling asleep independently at bedtime, taking naps at consistent intervals during the day in his cot and developing self-settling skills. Whilst Adam hadn't quite reached his sleep goals, Danni felt confident and was committed to keep going till he did.

Adam had made huge improvements to his sleep from when we first started working together, and Danni was amazed & grateful to have gotten some of her own sleep back too!
