From Co-Sleeping to Separate Rooms

Like most mums, Mia did what she could to get by and support herself & her daughter Libby. Libby had such a strong attachment to her mum that changing things for her was hard because Mum was all she knew and her security blanket. Mia and I worked together to help her regain her own bed and help Libby fall asleep in her bed without Mum.
After looking holistically at Libby's sleep, I made suggestions and accommodations to fit Libby and Mia's needs. This was to ensure that we set Libby up for the best possible success when implementing the changes to her sleep.
The first few days were quite tough for both Mia and Libby as Libby was learning a brand new way of sleeping. However, with reassurance and perseverance from Mia, Libby started to make progress by day 4.
From day 8, Libby was starting to fall asleep easily in her bed, she didn't even need Mia to be in the room when she fell asleep. This fast-tracked the stage that Mia needed to use in the settling technique. Rather, they'd have wind-down time together before saying goodnight, and Libby put herself to sleep all night.
By day 14, Libby was sleeping through the night without waking, allowing Mia to use the open and door method to signal to Libby when she could get up versus when she needed to stay in her bed.
Mia was so amazed and grateful for how much her life had been changed by getting Libby to sleep on her own, and allowing Mia to gain back some well deserve me time!
